Here it is, then. Andy Kershaw unplugged, the birds, the Bhundu Boys, the Bates (Simon), and the early days back in Leeds when he was star-spotted by a promising young commercial radio dj, whom modesty prevents me from naming.
Some of this stuff is in
Andy's very funny book, available from Amazon for only 9.50, and free bloody delivery if you don't mind, and some is not....
So, here we go:
An hour of riveting conversation, in four instalments.
1. In which Andy remembers putting on the Rolling Stones and the Clash at Leeds University, fails to reveal much about sleeping with two ladies at the same time, and
remembers great Manchester acts Caroline Aherne's Mrs Merton, and Chris Sievey's Frank Sidebottom....
2. How Billy Bragg led Andy to the promised land, the Whistle Test on TV, those wacky Radio One djs, and how Andy was
prevented from decking Simon Bates
3. Confusion between Mali in West Africa and Morley in Leeds, both of which are pronounced the same in West Yorkshire,
and an interesting proposition from Jonathan King..
4. Who's better, Jews or Catholics,
sleeping with Carol Vorderman, and ruining Mark Knopfler's carpet...
So there it is, at least two lifetimes packed into just 50 years...The above is just a sample of some of the stuff in Andy's book, available on Amazon, and details on
Andy's website
Enjoy!
