Here it is then, exactly as it appeared on Trip Advisor - Review of Whelan's Fish and Chip Restaurant, St Annes...
here's my take on this award winning diner in the very cosmopolitan St Annes
Haddock & Chips served with a separate ramakin of mushies and the best (Must be
homemade) Tartare sauce i've ever had the pleasure of anointing my fish with, a
slice of Lemon made a welcome appearance to round off the plateful in front of
fish was perfect and had me wanting more, the chips were not the best we'd had
but adequate, the peas were excellent and the Tartare sauce was the best i've
I had 2 slices of Bread & Butter but this was poor and certainly not good
enough to accompany this meal, the bread was of the sliced variety and
definately not Warburtons which I would have insisted on using if I was going
down that road but for me only a freshly sliced bakery loaf would have sufficed
on this table and i'd of been more than happy to pay more on the price to cover
the cost, my wife said the pot of Tea was weak & watery so here's another
required little tweek.
all we enjoyed our meal and left contented, we did return on a summers Friday
evening and got seated downstairs and once again enjoyed our meal but on this
occasion I had to ask for my accompanying mushy peas that came as standard
before and the lady who served me seemed a little put out but hey there you go.
return again when i'm visiting
(Great news for Whelan's there. My favourite line: 'the bread was of the sliced variety.' You'll have your own.)
