On Thursday August 19, I am hosting the launch of the book Promised Land - The Reinvention of Leeds United by Sunday Mirror football writer Anthony Clavane.
I shall be quizzing him about the book, which attempts to marry Clavane's Leeds Jewish upbringing with his support for the Whites, hence its original title Hubris Schmubris, which wiser counsels made him change. Launch is at 5.30 in the Thoresby Room at Leeds City Museum. There is free wine, but Anthony is both Jewish and a Yorkshireman, so you should be fine for driving home...
Meanwhile, on Saturday I return to Fighting Talk, which this week comes from Hereford before an invited audience at the Blind World Cup, the biggest disability
football event in the country It's on BBC Five Live at 11am, and confirmed panellists include John Rawling and Des Kelly...
Here's the Spike Milligan now...it's from an ATV programme called Milligan's Wake, which preceded the Q series and a lot of his other triumphs. I found it on an old LP in my cellar, and shared it with subscribers to my podcast.
